Good morning Wilders. Today I’ve decided to start off with a breakfast post. It is after all the most important meal of the day, so lets begin.

French toast, love it. So simple to make and so tasty to eat. It’s like having dessert for breakfast. Spongy bread topped with the lightest sprinkling of powdered sugar, smothered in creamy butter and drizzled in sticky syrup. Just talking about makes it sound like a sin too rich to be breakfast and yet it’s totally a breakfast norm.

There are lots of different takes on this traditional dish, here is mine.

Day old French Baguette sliced into 6, 1/2″ pieces
2 Eggs
1/4 cup half & half
dash of cinnamon
1 teaspoon lemon extract
Powdered Sugar (optional)


Mix all ingredients to make the egg batter, dip your bread and cook in butter on a heated griddle.
