DIY Custom Desk
With the launch of Idyllwild Designs Shop rapidly approaching, (we’re on day 35) we knew it was time to get an upgrade in the home office department. That is in fact, that we wanted a home office instead of one of us being on the couch and the other on the dining room table. Things came to a head one night after I had hogged all of the flat surface real-estate in the house. Hey being creative is a messy business! But, I did have some project or paperwork on almost all flat surfaces including a large area of the living room floor. (My bad) So we decided we better do something about this work space before we killed each other. On Monday we posted about our DIY Vintage Wood Stain.

Today, as promised the project we did with our stained wood! Our living room wall on one side is over ten feet long and finding a desk that was both long enough to fill the space and thin enough not to block the walk way was proving to be challenging. We headed over to Home Depot post hast! We purchased three ClosetMaid shelving units that were 36″ tall by 12″ deep and had the nice people in the lumber department cut us up some 1″ x 3″ planks. Then, we broke out the tools, (and the curse words.)

A few glasses of wine, a lot of swearing, a bit of bickering and three days later we had brand new work station! Idyllwild HQ is born!!
