Our store opens is just 10 days! Errrr Mahhhh Gaaawwwwd!I’m so excited, and I have lots to tell you all! I feel like I haven’t written a blog post in forever, which is kinda true. Since I knew we would be busy leading up to launch I had prepped a lot of my posts in advance. But, as I knew they would the posts ran out. So, today I’m writing to you straight from the hip as we get ready to head back to the Garment District for the last batch of merchandise before we launch! With that in mind PLEASE forgive any typo’s or extreme grammar fails. My editor won’t get to see this one before I hit publish. (Sorry D) Continue reading

A while back we put our Countdown to Launch on pause as we worked behind the scenes to make sure everything was perfect. I know it’s been a few weeks since we talked about it but we just wanted to pop in with a quick teaser and let you know we will be counting down again soon!! We are putting the finishing touches on our store so hang tight Wilders! We’ll be bringing you awesome vintage inspired goods VERY soon!
Pantone is the leading expert on all things fashion forecast. I sometimes look at the reports and wonder who is the ‘they’ that chooses these colors? Who is the ‘they’ that chooses the trends. And Sometimes I imagine that there are a bunch of old farts sitting in a room sipping sherry and asking each other what can we make the ‘fashion children’ do today. But either way, whether you think ‘they’ are using their powers for good or for evil, the ‘they’ of Pantone are the go to peeps when it comes to forecasting our fashion futures and these are the hot colors of the season.
If you’re a true shopper chances are you’ve already started to see these colors pop up in your favorite stores. If you haven’t, wait for it. The spring collections will be hitting floors any minute now, time to start looking through our closets and seeing what we have that will transcend the season and what must have pieces need to be added.
Which color will be your signature shade this spring?
Nail art is everywhere and nothing says “I’m stylish” like a perfect artistic manicure! But what if you are, dare I say it? Artistically challenged? If paint by numbers has you baffled and stick figures are more your style, there is still hope for your nail art fantasies. Nail wraps! They have been popping up everywhere and today we rounded up a few of the top ones. If you haven’t tried the nail wraps for yourself I suggest you grab a pair. They work really well and can’t be beat for time saving and looks. They are super quick and easy, just like a prom date……
Anyway, Here they are in no particular order:
I usually use this brand, I think they might have been one of the first companies I remember seeing offering nail wraps. They are easy to use, fair price and long lasting.
Shop it – $8.49 Sally Hansen
I’ve never used this brand, but after browsing their catalog I’m intrigued by all their designs. I’m thinking it’s time to shop!
Shop it- $12.00 GoScratchIt
Essie is tops for drug store polish brands. I haven’t tried the nail strips, but it’s on my to do list.
Shop it – $9.49 Essie
On occasion I use the Forever 21 brand. They don’t last as long, but the price really can’t be beat if you are looking for a fun funky design these are perfect.
Shop it – $2.80 Forever 21
The catalog from these guys had some of the most amazing designs I’ve seen. I’ll be running to try these out next time I want a really stellar look.
Shop it – $16.00 NCLA Los Angeles
I’ve only tried this brand once, but again great line up of looks and totally worth it!
Shop it – $6.99 Kiss
What’s your favorite brand?
As we get ready to start shooting the Look Book for Shop Idyllwild we did a lot of research on different themes for our first look. One of our favorites that we aren’t planning on using is the Fairytale theme. I love fairytales. I love all of them, they’re my guilty little pleasure, *cut to a grown woman watching Peter Pan and repeating the entire dialog. I’m fascinated by Alice in Wonderland. I love every rendition of Little Red Riding Hood. Know all the words to every song in Disney’s Little Mermaid. So with my true love of all things whimsical a fairytale shoot really would be ideal, but for now we chose something a little more unique. Even though we passed on it as a theme for the Look Book, todays Style Files is a round up of some of our favorite fairytale inspired fashion shoots.
Which one is your favorite?
